Yesterday I had the wonderful opportunity to capture memories for my line sister, Shaniqua, for her family session.  Over the last few weeks we discussed location and wardrobe ideas and finally everything came together at the beautiful University of South Carolina at the Horseshoe.  This location has special meaning to the Bess Family since it’s where Shaniqua and her husband Dylan first met.  I was so excited that they chose me to photograph their session and that I was finally able to meet the adorable Miss Zoe!  Working with toddlers can be a roller coaster experience sometimes, but Zoe couldn’t have been better during our session!  You would’ve thought she’d been modeling for Gap Kids since she was a newborn.  I was so impressed with how sweet and well mannered she was.  Dylan and Shaniqua did an excellent job prepping her for our session.

The day was muggy, but that’s to be expected in the Carolinas this time of year.  Thankfully a few cool breezes and some good cloud coverage helped us to stay moderately comfortable.  I say moderately because the mosquitos came out in full force and attacked us.  I still have the battle wounds to show for it.  It didn’t deter the Bess Family though.  They were game for any and all poses I wanted to try out.  Shaniqua was absolutely stunning in her Sew Trendy Accessories gown!  The simple, yet elegant gown was paired beautifully with her Stella Dot jewelry.  It’s amazing what a good statement necklace can do to add a little pizzazz to an outfit.  I’m so excited for the Bess Family and the arrival of Baby Bess!  I know she will be a wonderful addition to this gorgeous family and I can’t wait to meet her.  Wishing this family nothing but the best for her arrival!
