Angela H. | NoDa Branding Session

Have I ever expressed how much I love the NoDa (also known as North Davidson) area of Charlotte, NC?  Well I do.  It’s filled with narrow streets, buzzing with people and pops of vibrant color are everywhere!  Anytime I’m asked to use this location as a backdrop for a session I’m excited.  And as many times as I’ve shot in this area it never gets old to me.  So when Angela reached out to me and indicated she wanted to use NoDa as her backdrop I was ready to go.

Angela and I had never met, but had communicated a bit prior to her session via email which is a great way for me to get to know my clients a bit better so we  don’t go into their session cold.  After emailing back and forth and learning she was my soror we knew we were in good company and were both excited to work with one another.  Her look was simple but kept with the colorful city backdrop by changing between a pink and green blazer (how fitting!).  Getting to know more about her and learning she’d recently moved to the area and some projects she was working on I knew this shoot was just what she needed to elevate her brand to the next level.  I’m so excited to see all of her projects come to fruition over the coming months and years and I definitely look forward to having her back in front of my camera once again.  If you’re an entrepreneur looking to update your professional images I’d love to chat with you!  Contact me today so we can discuss your branding visuals to help you stand apart from the competition and make your web presence the best that it can be.

What an absolute honor it is to be asked to be a part of one of the most memorable and special days in someone’s life.  And I’m especially grateful to be asked by clients that have become family over the years.  I’ve worked alongside Adrienne and Kevin for a few years now and each session was better than the one before.  So when Adrienne reached out to me regarding her upcoming wedding in scenic Charleston, SC I was elated that she would consider me for the job.  My niche in wedding photography is so small (dealing in intimate weddings and elopements only) that I don’t get too many opportunities to shoot them.  And sometimes with the pressure that comes along with being a wedding photographer that’s for the best.  But when the day turns out to be as perfect as Adrienne and Kevin’s was it makes me wish I did this more often.

I love the city of Charleston and shooting at Cannon Green was a pure dream come true.  The wedding day began that afternoon as the bride, her daughter and matron of honor prepped at The Grand Bohemian Hotel.  From there it was time to head to Cannon Green for the ceremony and reception.   Just as night began to set in the twinkling lights of the ceremony site lit up and cast a beautiful glow around the guests and wedding party.  Adrienne was a pure vision in her NY Bride & Groom gown and Kevin was ever so dapper in his tux.

After their vows were exchanged things moved indoors for the cocktail hour and family portraits and finally finishing off that portion of the evening with one large group photo before the reception kicked off.  The reception decor was stunning thanks to Chancey Charm, the food was delicious and the guests were ready to party late into the night.  The magical night finally ended with a beautiful sendoff as well wishers took home mini bottles of champagne and the bride and groom went off to begin their honeymoon.  I can’t say enough how grateful I am to have been a part of this moment in Kevin, Adrienne and their children’s lives.  I hope they look back on this day fondly for many years to come and I wish them a lifetime of love and happiness!

The Valverde Family | Newborn Lifestyle Session

The Valverde Family | Lifestyle Session

In-home lifestyle sessions are definitely something I wish I could do more often.  It’s perfect for families that want to be relaxed in the comfort of their own home and still come out with beautiful, authentic images.  Brittany reached out to me regarding a maternity session for her and husband Daniel, but after some thinking opted for an in-home lifestyle session instead once little Kaylor arrived.  I thought this was a wonderful idea and since Kaylor’s arrival was close to Christmas I knew this would make for magical memories for their entire family for years to come.

I arrived at their home in North Carolina and was stunned that a family with a 9 day old baby lived there.  It was immaculate to say the least!  I give my clients tips on preparing their homes for lifestyle sessions, but something told me that Brittany didn’t even need that advice.  I was instantly put into the holiday spirit as I saw their beautiful decor!  As we got started I had to play my Pandora Christmas playlist to get us all even more into the mood of the season and to relax them.

Little Kaylor was as adorable as can be and so alert!  I just knew she’d spend the entire shoot asleep, but she wasn’t having it.  She wanted to be in the know and see everything that was happening.  I know these will be memories that both Daniel and Brittany, as well as Brittany’s mom who was gracious enough to help out with the shoot, will cherish forever.  I will be forever grateful that they allowed me into their home to capture such intimate and special moments for their family.  And if you’re interested in a possible in-home lifestyle session I’d love to chat with you!  Contact me today so we can discuss making lasting memories for you and your loved ones.

Taylour c/o 2018 | Senior Portrait Session

It’s always fun for me when I get the opportunity to meet the family members of my clients.  I’ve worked with Ashley of Whimsy Luxxe a couple of times previously, once on a styled shoot and another during her branding session, and I’ve had a lot of fun getting to know her better over the last couple of years.  She’s always a joy to be around and one of my most laid back clients.  So when she told me that she wanted me to shoot her oldest daughter Taylour’s Senior Session I was thrilled.

The session took place during the fall of 2017 and it was a very cold day.  One thing about the South during fall and winter is that you can never tell which way the weather will go so you have to be prepared to burn up or freeze.  That day it was definitely cold, but shooting during the golden hour made for the most beautiful lighting situation.  Taylour was a trooper and got her model fix by seeing what it’s like to put on your best face in spite of freezing inside.

We started her session in a more casual look as we made our way through Old  Town Rock Hill, SC.  After a quick wardrobe change into a gorgeous violet velvet dress we headed towards the downtown fountain to finish up her session.  Taylour has big plans for her future and just from our short time together I know she’s going to do exactly what she sets her heart and mind to.  I wish her nothing but the best in her future endeavors and look forward to seeing where her life leads her.

If you’re a high school senior, or the parent of one, now is the time to start booking those senior portrait sessions.  I’d love to  chat with you to make those final high school memories.  Contact me today so we can chat!

Tracy S. | Rock Hill, SC Branding Session

tracy sTracy S. | Rock Hill, SC Branding Session

Tracy is one of those rare clients that has faith in you before ever working with you. Most clients have faith that their hired photographer will produce good work or else they wouldn’t hire them, but Tracy’s faith was a little more than the average. She initially booked me for a branding session for her business and before that session even took place she would go on to hire me for two more sessions. I was stunned and needless to say very nervous. I wanted to live up to her expectations because if the first shoot didn’t go well we still had two lined up. Thankfully all three shoots were amazing and it was a lot of fun for me getting to know her a little better with each shoot.

Funny enough the first shoot she booked me for, her branding session, was our final of the three. She came prepared with her hairstylist/makeup artist and we worked our way through Old Town Rock Hill, SC for the more casual portion of her session. The second half of her session took us to Glencairn Garden as she donned more professional attire which is perfect for her credit repair and counseling service, CES Credit Solutions.  I always encourage my branding clients to go with two separate looks for their sessions.  One that is a bit more buttoned up so they can use those images for marketing materials, speaking engagements and their LinkedIn profile.  The second option should be more laid back and fun.  Something that shows off your personality and can be used across the board on your varying social media accounts.  Tracy has a good number of images to keep her branding visuals fresh for a long time to come!

If you’re interested in booking a branding session I would love to discuss my packages with you.  Contact me today so we can begin making your business stand out from the rest!
