Cureton Family Session – Rock Hill, SC

Cureton Family Session – Rock Hill, SC
Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting and working with the Cureton Family for their first family session in years! I know I always say it, but I’m truly honored when families choose me to photograph them after not having a portrait session in years.  It is truly a humbling feeling.
I’d met Zandria’s 7 year old son , Zamir, last year during my Fall Mini Sessions when he took photos alongside his little cousin, but this was my first time meeting the entire family.  Zandria and I managed to make this entire session come together within just one week!  Once we settled on the beautiful Glencairn Garden as our backdrop everything else came together in a breeze.
I love it when people come prepared for their family sessions and bring prop items that are unique to them.  Along with a comfy blanket for baby Zavi, Zandria also brought along letters to represent the children’s names as well as toy trains, which happen to be one of Zamir’s favorite toys.  And can we just talk about Zamir for a minute?!  Aside from just being an overall really nice, well mannered kid, I think he may just be a model in training!  He moved so naturally in front of the camera.  I noticed it last year during his first session with me, but he simply stood out during this session.  And he seems to love being a big brother as well.  He loved holding little Zavi while mom and dad were taking photos.  He made sure to be very careful and gentle with him.
Zandria indicated wanting to hang these photos up on her ‘family tree’ wall and I know that project will turn out wonderful!  I’m so happy to have had the chance to work with this family and to be able to create memories they will share for a lifetime.
