Robinson Family Session In Fort Mill, SC

The Robinson Family – Fort Mill, SC Photography

A week ago I was introduced to the Robinson Family for the first photos they’ve had done as a family of six ever!  I was so honored to be chosen as the photographer for such a milestone.  They were gifted this photo session by Karla’s sister for Christmas and I hope I was able to make this a wonderful experience for the entire family.  The kids are absolutely adorable and Karla and her husband Rob are such a handsome couple!  Next week I have the pleasure of shooting their vow renewal ceremony and I’m looking forward to working with them again!

Joi B. Graduation Session – Greenville, SC

Joi B. Graduation Session – Greenville, SC Photography

This past weekend I had the pleasure of meeting Joi and shooting her graduation portraits.  We met in downtown Greenville, SC for her session and on this particular day the weather could not have been any more beautiful.  The sun was shining, a slight breeze was going and it just made for a gorgeous backdrop.  Joi was a delight to work with; polite, friendly and she’s absolutely beautiful!  She definitely made my job easy.  I wish her much success in all of her future endeavors and know that she will go on to do great things!

Gina S. Bridal Portraits – Ballantyne Resort

Gina S. Bridal Portraits – Ballantyne Resort

Back in March I had the extreme pleasure of working with Gina for not only her bridal shower, but also her bridal portraits.  The hardest thing about bridal portrait photography (for me anyway) is sitting on the photos for such a long period of time.  Especially when they turn out as gorgeous as these did!  I’m the type of photographer that gets giddy after a session.  So giddy in fact that it’s hard for me to wait a day or two to edit.  I typically dive in that same day/night if I don’t have any other obligations.  And then I’m immediately sharing sneak peeks on Instagram and blogging the session for my site and Facebook.  So imagine having to wait for months before I can share a session with the world!  It’s tough, but it has to be done.

So let me tell you a little about this session.  Gina and I originally planned to shoot at a nearby park in Rock Hill, SC, but a change of plans occurred and we moved the session to The Ballantyne Hotel.  And boy am I glad we did!  The various backdrops in and outside of the hotel were breathtaking.  From the gorgeous chandelier hanging from the entry way to the hardwood floors that adorned the restaurant hallway.  We made use of the entire hotel and since this was a new venue for me to work in I was just as excited as the bride, possibly even more!  Everything went off without a hitch and she made the most stunning bride.  Her husband is a very lucky man.  I also had the pleasure of meeting and working with Gina’s daughter, Chloe, who is just as photogenic as her mother and probably the most polite child I’ve ever met!  I think she may have even been inspired to become a photographer herself.

I’m so excited for Gina and all that’s in store for her in this next phase of life.  Her wedding took place just moments ago and I can only imagine that things will be just as wonderful as she expected them to be.  I wish her and her fiancee many years of love and happiness!

Meet My Senior Campaign Model: Ryleigh

A couple of months ago I embarked on a mission.  A mission to find the perfect senior campaign model.  It may not seem like anything major, but anytime you’re trying out something new for your business it can be a bit scary and daunting.  But because I’m a firm believer in continuously challenging yourself I went forward with my plan.  I put out a model call and received some great entries!  It was a hard decision but I, along with the help of a supportive friend (gotta have a second opinion on decisions like these) narrowed our choice down to Ryleigh.

She is a rising senior at Lancaster High School in Lancaster, SC.  She loves to teach entry-level dance and works at a local boutique when she’s not in school.  In her down time she enjoys attending concerts, shopping and salon visits.  She’s my kind of girl!  I mean who doesn’t love getting pampered, finding the perfect outfit and then going to see your favorite musical performer?

When Ryleigh, along with her mom Ashley, and I first met up for a pre-consultation we clicked right away.  She’s down to earth, articulate, smart and did I mention how gorgeous she is?!  I was truly pleased with my decision to choose to work with her.  And the icing on the cake was that she and her mother were both as excited for this project as I was.  Over the coming weeks we discussed plans for location, outfits and makeup.  I contacted local business owner and makeup artist Brenisha of Estilo by CX, located in Lancaster, SC to see if she would like to help out with this project.  She was more than willing and after some further communication I found out Ryleigh was a client of Estilo by CX already.  Remember what I said about her loving salon visits?  Yeah, I just found out first hand that it’s true!

The day of our shoot everything came together beautifully.  We met at Estilo by CX to get her makeup done and then made our way to Fort Mill, SC for her shoot.  When I say that everything worked out better than I could have imagined I truly mean it.  The weather was on our side and Ryleigh (who has never done professional photos in this way before) was a natural in front of the camera!  I think we were both surprised to find out how natural she moved and how well she took instructions when it comes to modeling.  All those days of watching America’s Next Top Model paid off for her!

I’m excited for this project in the years to come.  Having my trial run with Ryleigh go so well really gave me the boost I needed to make this an annual event.  Thank you so much to Ashley for entering Ryleigh into my model search (unbeknownst to Ryleigh at that), to Brenisha for doing such an amazing job with Ryleigh’s makeup and for being so flexible with my schedule, and especially to Ryleigh.  You’re an amazing young woman and I know the future has many wonderful things in store for you!

Life’s A Beach! – Garden City, SC

Life’s A Beach In Garden City, SC

Every year I take a small trip to Garden City, SC for some much needed rest and relaxation.  Last year it gave me the opportunity to work on my website, this year was just about fun.  My sister and her best friend joined me and we had a lot of fun just being tourists.  That included people watching, visiting Alligator Adventure and watching the sunrise on my final morning.  I hope you enjoy seeing a snippet of my vacation!
