The Biltmore Estate – Asheville, NC

The Biltmore Estate – Asheville, NC

This past weekend I was finally able to check another item off of my bucket list, visiting the Biltmore Estate during Christmas.  My first trip to Asheville, NC and the Biltmore took place in the spring of 2013 and while that was a great trip it poured rain almost the entire time, which didn’t make for good sight-seeing.  So it was nice to return to the Biltmore with my family and see it as it should be seen.

Because I can’t be just a tourist and I have to get a little creative (especially since the recent bad weather has kept me from being able to shoot).  I thought it would be unique (and also stunning) to do a few ring shots for my sister.  What better way to display her beautiful engagement ring than with the glorious estate as the backdrop.  I’m so glad she was up for the idea because the shots we got were amazing!

Although the weather was cold (make sure to dress warm if you’re planning to visit during this time of year), the day could not have been more beautiful!  There was not a single cloud in the sky the entire duration of our trip.  We started our day by touring the massive grounds, then moving to the inside of the estate (no photos allowed) which had Christmas decor in almost every single room, we visited the shops which were filled with Christmas gifts, had lunch at the Stable Cafe, did a little wine tasting and even saw Santa and carolers.  If you’re looking for something to do with your significant other or as a family I definitely encourage you to visit the Biltmore during the holidays.  If you love Christmas and everything it has to offer I promise you won’t be disappointed.
