Over Labor Day weekend I managed to get a couple of family sessions in at beautiful Glencairn Garden in Rock Hill, SC. I love bringing families from out of town there because they never expect everything the park has to offer. From a waterfall, to a pond, lots of greenery and open fields. There’s truly something there for everyone. I was excited to work with my cousin Nadia and her family to finish up my weekend of shooting. This date was rescheduled due to rain canceling out our prior session, but things couldn’t have worked out better. Their session took place late on a Sunday evening as the sun was beginning to set. Not only did it make for some gorgeous lighting, but it also helped keep the temperature down a little. And at this point in September we will take what we can get down south!
The James Family were laid back and had fun with their session which I always love. And thankfully after Aidan letting us know that he was not in the mood to be overly affectionate with his parents at the beginning of our session he was geared up and ready to finish the session off strong. The help of wildlife in the park (including a crane – at least I assume that’s what it was – and some very large koi fish) helped to re-energize him and get him excited about taking more photos.
They’re a picture perfect family and I’m glad that I was able to work with them after not having had family portraits taken in quite some time. These memories will last them a lifetime and I look forward to working with them for many years to come.
