Kellen + Hannah | Rock Hill, SC Portrait Session
Last month I had the pleasure of working with two of the most adorable, funny and well-behaved children I’ve come across. Kellen + Hannah’s portrait session was originally set for July, but due to unforeseen circumstances their session was pushed back a month. We still went with their original location, however had the original session date worked out the field would have been filled with bright green cornfields and blooming sunflowers. Unfortunately the sun flowers were burned to a crisp (a pretty interesting sight to see) and the corn fields were fading as well. But I wouldn’t change our date for anything! The beautiful shades of beige, brown and green that filled the fields ended up being the perfect backdrop. Sometimes you have to look beyond what you initially view as mundane or uninteresting and see the beauty in it. The muted tones allowed Kellen + Hannah to pop in front of the lens. They were the primary focus and it worked out beautifully!
Kellen was an absolute natural in front of the camera, constantly looking over his shoulder and wondering which scary creature from his Goosebumps book would be making an appearance during our session. He had fun posing for the camera and telling me all about his interests. Hannah was quite the opposite. She didn’t care too much for what I was doing, but allowed me to shoot around her, capturing some wonderful candid moments.
The two of them worked so well together and you could see that Kellen is definitely protective of his little sister. Hannah, although very independent, did allow herself to be snuggled by her brother as she planted a big wet one right on his cheek! I had such a great time working with this family and meeting these two. I know these will be memories that mom and dad will treasure for many years to come.
