Tamesha B. | Mesha’s Sweet Treats

I’m so proud of the session that I’m sharing today.  Not necessarily proud of myself because I shoot branding sessions day in and day out, but proud of the person that I had the chance to capture.  My cousin Tamesha, owner and baker extraordinaire, of Mesha’s Sweet Treats has taken the leap into entrepreneur life.  She’s worked in bakeries for years and dabbled in creating her own goodies, but now Mesha’s Sweet Treats is a full fledged business that she runs alongside her mother.  When she reached out to me regarding a branding session I was ecstatic!  I’ve had the pleasure treating myself to some of her desserts over the years so I was happy to work with her in this capacity and share with the world, visually, just how good her treats are!

Over the course of our time together I was able to capture Tamesha in action showing her baking process from start to finish.  And of course the perk for me was capturing the finished products and then tasting them!  They do NOT disappoint.  We wrapped her shoot by capturing a few headshots that she’s able to use across the board from her website, to marketing materials to her social media accounts.

I’m seriously proud of the woman and business owner she’s become.  And I cannot wait to see what her business blossoms into.  I know she has a seriously bright and SWEET future ahead of her.  If you’re in the Rock Hill area and in need of custom made goodies for your next event (or even just to take home and treat yourself with) then definitely check her out today!  And if you’re a baker, maker or other creative and in need of updated branding images then I’d love to chat with you!  Contact me today to see if I can help you bring your products to life.

I’ve been doing branding photography fairly consistently for the last couple of years, but oddly enough most of my sessions are with entrepreneurs and creatives that are service based.  So meeting Shemaine of Sweet Pea Chic was a nice change of pace since she offers physical products.  Sweet Pea Chic is a subscription based baby care box company that are designed with women in mind.  With an array of boxes to choose from: including boy and girl boxes and even boxes for moms that are trying to get pregnant!  Shemaine has truly thought of it all.

Since our first session we’ve had the opportunity to collaborate on shooting her boxes for display on her website and social media channels.  And each time that we connect her business grows by leaps and bounds.  I just know in another year from now she’s going to have an entire team backing her efforts.

Being able to watch a dream become a reality become a successful business is one of the perks of what I get to do.  And meeting so many amazing entrepreneurs build their empires is the icing on a very sweet cake!  I thank Shemaine so much for trusting me to help bring her brand visuals to life, for not only her personal branding images but the images of her baby care boxes as well.  And if you know someone that is expecting then you should definitely check Sweet Pea Chic out and gift your loved one something unique.  I promise you they’ll LOVE receiving these packages in the mail as a one time gift or a via a monthly subscription.  And if you have a physical product that you need to put a face with then I’d love to chat with you about my various branding packages to see how I can help you bring your vision to life!  Email me today so that we can begin planning for your session.

Catherine M. | Grapevine Rock Hill, SC Sessions

Branding sessions and wine…literally two of my very favorite things on this planet.  And when you combine them, well that’s just a match made in heaven.  I’ve had the pleasure of working with Catherine of JazziCat Cafe over the last couple of years on a few different branding projects so when she came to me with the idea of doing something wine themed I was all for it!  Since she typically travels in from Georgia for her sessions I knew a winery was likely not an option.  While I’m located roughly about 90 minutes from most local vineyards it didn’t make much sense to travel that distance for a quick branding session (although if anyone is up for the commute please let me know!) so I began to brainstorm.  And my thinking brought me back to the quaint little town that I reside in and one of my favorite places to enjoy a glass of vino…ok, my absolute favorite place…Grapevine.  It’s a cute little wine shop nestled in the heart of the Riverwalk community that has delicious wines and their charcuterie boards are to die for!

I reached out to Grapevine to make sure it was ok for us to shoot there and they happily obliged so Catherine and I met up to capture some images of her indulging in a bit of wine and just enjoying the atmosphere.  After her session ended I decided to get a glass for myself (the Educated Guess Cabernet is my fave!) and we sat and chatted for a bit, catching up and having a little girl time.  It was definitely one of the most relaxing and enjoyable sessions I’ve ever had.  What can I say?  I’m not hard to please when it comes to wine!  I love sessions that are unique and out of the box and I always thank Catherine for giving me something fun to do during our time together.  And if you’re in need of some branding images that give a little more insight into who you are as a person then I’d love to chat!  Email me today so we can begin brainstorming.

At the start of 2019 I announced some changes coming to DBP in regards to my branding offerings.  Instead of just having one package I made the move to create four collections that would fit every possible need for various entrepreneurs, creatives and business owners.  You can find more about these various collections and see which one best fits your needs here.  The two highest collections were me definitely stretching myself as it was at a higher price point than anything I’d offered before (aside from my old wedding package), but I went out on a limb and trusted that there would be people that would have a need for them.  And then Tracey of Living My Empowered Life reached out to me.

I had worked with Tracey a couple of years prior for her first branding session and we had a great time hanging out, shooting and getting to know one another better.  So I was elated to hear from her again and this time she was interested in my Boss Collection which not only included 2 hours of shoot time, but also makeup by Whitney Elise (with on set lipstick changes and touch ups) as well as wardrobe styling by Kristen of Akcess.  We were putting our most robust collection to the test mere months after introducing it to the world and to say I was a bit nervous would be an understatement.

But the day couldn’t have run more smoothly!  I met up with Tracey at Whitney’s studio and we all made our way to our first location to capture Tracey’s first look.  I knew the all black would pop so well against the cream backdrop and I was happy to be so right!  Our second location took us to The Green and allowed for some working shots of Tracey to add to her arsenal of social media images.  Look three was more casual and brought us to the Bechtler Museum where her shades of blue popped against the terracotta hued building.  And we finally ended things near the Mint Museum where she looked beautiful in a yellow sundress that fit her personality so well.  I want to thank Tracey from the bottom of my heart for trusting me and my team to bring her vision to life.  My girls did a superb job of making Tracey feel and look like a million bucks!  And if you want to get the full Boss experience then contact me today so we can begin planning on how we can bring your vision to life.

Alycia Turns 10!

I’m going to attempt to write this blog post without balling my eyes out.  You see, Alycia is my niece and it’s hard for me to believe she’s already 10 years old!  Like seriously, how did we get here so fast?  I’ve been there to see her grow from an adorable baby, to a sassy toddler and now into a beautiful tween.  She’s also had the pleasure (if that’s what you want to call it) of having a camera in her face for just about her entire life.  I began my photography journey right around the time she was born, by taking an introductory course, purchasing my first camera and a few years later turning my hobby into a side hustle.  And when you need someone to practice on…well babies can’t tell you no.

I’m so grateful that she still allows her auntie to point a camera her way.  She’s always been super photogenic and one of the easiest kids I’ve ever worked with.  I don’t know if it’s because I was the one behind the lens or if that’s just her overall nature.  It’s been amazing to watch her grow into the person she currently is and I can only imagine the teenager and woman she will eventually become.  And I definitely look forward to capturing more important life moments like her sweet 16, prom, graduation and more!

And if you have a child that is having a milestone birthday that you want to capture then I’d love to chat with you!  While I no longer photograph babies on their own, I’m more than happy to get your tweens, teens and more on my camera.  Contact me today to book their session and make it a birthday they won’t soon forget!
