Robin H. | Duke Mansion Branding Session

Robin is a branding client I’ve had the pleasure of working with a few times over the last couple of years.  She’s the author of several books and is currently based in Charlotte, NC.  When I came out with my Echo Collection, a branding package for entrepreneurs, creatives and influencers that need updated images on a consistent basis, she reached out to me and indicated that she was ready to sign up and take her brand to the next level and she’s definitely done so!

Our first shoot together took place during the bitter cold of winter at Romare Bearden Park located in uptown Charlotte.  It was a bright and beautiful morning, but oh so cold!  Robin was a trooper and showed up ready to work and make some more #blackgirlmagic together.

Our second session brought us to warmer temps.  She was staying at the lavish Duke Mansion and decided to use the opportunity to capture some images in her suite.  And let me tell you this place was a photographers playground!  We didn’t capture any images outside on the grounds, but we didn’t have to because everything we needed was right in her room.  A beautiful writing desk where Robin was able to be inspired to write her latest tome, a bed perfect for catching up on her favorite book, a bathroom fit for a queen and finally a covered balcony that was made for relaxing.  I know Robin’s time away at the Duke Mansion was near perfect and I’m glad we were able to capture it on camera.  And if you think you may be interested in booking my Echo Collection then I’d love to chat with you about everything that it entails!  Contact me today to learn more.

Shatavia S. | Realtor Branding Session

I love every opportunity I get to work with up and coming entrepreneurs and being able to help them build their brand with great visuals that they can use to get started in their career.  I’ve seen so many people get into realty lately and I’m loving that they are thinking outside of the box from traditional corporate headshots and having sessions that are more tailored to their personalities.  Every realtor isn’t the same, just like in any field, so it’s important to set yourself apart and show off who you truly are so that your clients can get a better feel for you and the business you operate.

Shatavia and met through a mutual branding client of mine and had a great session in downtown Rock Hill, SC.  We started things out at Collision Cowork and then moved things outside for some lifestyle shots that she’ll be able to use in her social media accounts and on her website to show a more personal side of herself.

If you’re a realtor that is just starting out OR you’re tired of your stuffy, corporate headshot and would like to do a branding and lifestyle session that is more personable and fits your brand better then I’d love the opportunity to chat with you!  I have various branding collections that fit every need so contact me today so that we can begin planning your session.  And in the mean time check out Shatavia and reach out to her if you have any real estate needs.

To Paris, With Love

If you would’ve told me just two years ago that I’d one day travel to the City of Light with a group of photography friends and shoot an amazing session with a gorgeous model and the Eiffel Tower is the backdrop I would’ve told you that you were completely out of your mind.  Small thinking had that nowhere NEAR the realm of possibility in my photography future.  Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had aspirations to do some great things over the years.  I’ve traveled out of my vicinity for sessions and even had clients hop on planes just to work with me, but somehow I never dreamed that I could fly off to another country to do what I love.

Paris wasn’t all work though.  My friends and I made sure to have a lot of fun in the short time we were there.  Our first day brought us to the top of the Eiffel Tower which if you know me freaked me out because I do NOT do heights and the Trocadero, so we could scout the perfect location for our upcoming session.  Day two we visited the scenic Louvre and of course you know we had to check out our girl, Mona Lisa.  We also took a trip to see Notre Dame which had just recently experienced a terrible fire so we were not allowed to get too close.

Our final day (yes we actually tripped to Paris for a long weekend), had us up at the crack of dawn for a morning session with Lyria that couldn’t have been more amazing.  She was the perfect muse and embodiment of this wonderful city.  It was an unexpectedly chilly morning, but she was a true pro!  We managed to wrap up the session just before the rain began and found comfort and warmth inside a nearby cafe for breakfast.  We ended our evening with a final dinner overlooking the Eiffel Tower as it twinkled in beautiful lights.  This was truly a magical trip and one I will NEVER forget.  I’m so grateful for being granted the opportunity to do the thing I love most in one of the most majestic places on earth.  It’s something I’ll never take for granted and has made me dream BIG.  I’m already anticipating the next adventure so stay tuned!

Kimberly V. | WeWork Branding Session

A lot can happen and change in a year.  A little over one year after my initial session with Kimberly we reconnected for her  second branding session with me.  Our first meeting had us braving the bitter cold in downtown Rock Hill, known as Old Town, on a windy January morning.  This year we wised up and took things inside.

We met  at WeWork in uptown Charlotte for her branding  session and if you’ve been reading my blog for a while you know that I absolutely LOVE shooting in new spaces.  Something about unfamiliar territory gets me excited and when the space is as amazing as WeWork then the creativity inside of me practically oozes out.

We shot early on a weekend morning and got lucky because we had the entire space all to ourselves.  I imagine most of the entrepreneurs and creatives that work here on a regular basis were taking the weekend off and spending it as far away from work as possible.  This opened us up to utilize the entire facility without any distractions.  It was a blast working with Kimberly again and it was fun catching each other up on what we’d been up to and working on over the last year.  And before we’d even left this session Kimberly’s mind was already brewing with ideas for our next meetup which will hopefully happen sooner rather than later because she absolutely brings it to each of her sessions!  And if you’re in need of updated branding images then I’d love the opportunity to chat with you to see how I can help.  Contact me today so we can begin bringing your vision to life.

Bianca Gets Married!

Bianca Gets Married!

Branding sessions are my faves and Bianca of The Crawford Austin Agency is one of my favorites to shoot with, BUT today I’m excited to share not one, but TWO, personal sessions that Bianca and I created together.  I’m so grateful for Bianca and her belief in my business over the years and the fact that we’ve become friends is just an added bonus!  So when she asked me to shoot her engagement and bridal sessions of course I jumped at the opportunity.  And as much as I love capturing my client’s in their business element, I love when they ask me to  share in their private moments as well.

Bianca and Kurt’s engagement session was originally slated for NoDa, but on a bright, sunny day that was a no go.  People were milling about EVERYWHERE and parking was slim to none, so I contacted Bianca and told her we needed a backup plan.  We moved to uptown Charlotte, a favorite shooting area of mine, and it worked out perfectly!  The trees were in full bloom and it made way for a gorgeous backdrop to tell their love story.

Finding a location that had an indoor option for Bianca’s bridal session was a bit of a harder feat.  I always encourage my bridal portrait clients to find a location that’s scenic both inside and outside that way if the weather decides to not cooperate we have the option of going indoor.  Bianca decided that we’d shoot at the SC State Museum located in downtown Columbia, SC and I was excited to shoot somewhere new!  While we didn’t venture into the museum itself, the lobby area, both downstairs and upstairs provided plenty of options for her session.  Plus, Bianca was a stunning bride so we could’ve have literally shot anywhere and she would’ve glowed.  I am so excited for Bianca and Kurt’s journey into married life and am so thankful that I was able to witness their union in person.  I know they’re in for many exciting days ahead and I can’t wait to witness it all.
