Katrina H. | Baxter Village Session

I was so excited to get Dr. Katrina H. back in front of my lens!  We had worked together a few times previously when she lived in South Carolina, so of course when she broke the news to me that she was moving I was sad that I may never have the chance to work with her again, but at the time she told me she’d be coming home regularly and we would definitely link up.  And she kept true to her word!  I’ve had one opportunity so far this year to work alongside her and she’s always such a joy to be around and truly gives off great energy.  And now that she’s one of my Echo Collection clients I’ll have the chance to work with her and see her more consistently which I’m super excited about.  Our next session is already scheduled for later this year right before I go on my 4 week shooting hiatus and I can’t wait!

fort mill branding session

This session took place in Baxter Village located in Fort Mill, SC.  It’s a quaint little neighborhood filled with restaurants, businesses and shops.  It’s actually the second time I’ve shot there and also the second time it rained.  I’m determined to shoot there again one day when my client and I can take full advantage of what it has to offer because the entire vibe there is suited so well for branding and blogging clients.  Even though we weren’t able to get any shots along the sidewalks we did manage to make the rain work in our favor.  After shooting a few images outside under covered rooftops, we slipped inside of Cupcrazed Cakery which was gracious enough to allow us to shoot there and we had a lot of fun eating their goodies afterwards.  If you’re ever in the Fort Mill area I highly suggest you check them out!  And if you’re in need of branding images on a consistent basis then I’d love for you to check out my Echo Collection package.  Contact me today to learn more about it!

Sylvia + Pauline | Mother Daughter Session

Brands, seniors, couples, families…I’ve done them all.  I’ve done them often.  But this family session with Pauline and her mother Sylvia was one of a kind because it was the first time I’ve had the pleasure of shooting just a mother and daughter session.  And I have to admit, I absolutely LOVED it!  Getting the entire family together for a shoot is of course special, but there’s just something to be said for a mother daughter bond, especially once the daughter matures and you turn that bond into a real friendship.  I know from my own experience that my mom has become one of my closest friends as I’ve gotten older and making a memory like this with her would be so wonderful.

I met Pauline and Sylvia in Pineville, NC at a corporate park.  Little did we all know that prom was happening that evening at some of the local high schools and this park was a prime location for their photoshoots.  But we managed to carve out a few areas for just us and create some serious magic!  I got to know them both so well and their sweet and humble personalities instantly put me at ease and made me feel like I knew them both for years.  They started their day by getting pampered by one of Charlotte’s best makeup artists, Whitney Elise, and then after their session ended they had plans for dinner.  I just love that they made this a day all about the two of them and spending as much time together as possible.

I hope they will be memories they will both treasure for many, many years to come.  And if you’d love to get your mom or daughter together for a session then I would love the opportunity to chat with you!  Contact me today to see how I can help you and your family create some amazing memories.

Kyndal c/o 2019 | Charlotte Senior Session

It’s crazy to think that my session with Kyndal was all the way back in April of this year and at that time she was a senior that was still looking forward to the end of the school year, graduating and all of the festivities surrounding that time in her life.  Now she’s a freshman in college experiencing something completely new!  It just goes to show you that your life can change drastically within a matter of months.

I met Kyndal, her mom and sister on an unusually chilly and windy morning at Providence Day School.  You’d be surprised to know that this was my very first high school senior session that actually took place at the client’s school.  When I came to that realization myself it made me even more excited.  Senior sessions out and about in uptown Charlotte, at Romare Bearden Park or downtown Rock Hill are all nice, but I think when a student looks back on these images years from now seeing themselves at the school that took care of them and helped them mature into the adults they’ll eventually become will be a heart warming moment.

Kyndal has such a good head on her shoulders and it was great getting to know her as well as her family over the course of her session.  Just as the rain began to pick up we made our way into the gym where Kyndal was able to show off her volleyball skills.  I wish her much success on her future endeavors in college as well as the work force later in her life!  And if you’re a rising senior (or the parent of one) then I’d love to chat with you about your session.  Now is the time to start booking and planning so contact me today you’re interested in having me shoot your session!

Sasha Q. Photography | Photographer Branding Session

If you’ve been around here for even a little while then you know shooting brands is my passion.  Even more specifically creative brands.  And even more specifically than that…fellow photographers.  I know I’ve mentioned it here before that working with those in the same field as myself makes me extra happy and when it’s a friend no less, well then that’s just the cherry on a very sweet sundae.

I had the pleasure of working with my friend Sasha of Sasha Q. Photography previously for her partnered business The TwentySeven Workshop, so when she reached out to me during her business rebrand I was super excited!  One, because I knew she was niching down and focusing more on what she’s passionate about in photography and two, because I knew our time together was going to be filled with lots of laughter which it most definitely was!

Sasha is a natural light family and children’s photographer based in Greenville, SC.  She’s a girl after my own heart because she enjoys traveling and eating good food.  Two things that we’ve actually had the pleasure of doing together!  I was so happy to capture her session in uptown Charlotte.  The weather seemed like it was going to work against us, but we managed to get things done before the rain dropped or the wind picked up too much.  I know this won’t be the last shoot we do together and I’m already anticipating our next one!  If you’re in the Greenville/Spartanburg area and in need of updated family photos or images of your little ones then make sure to reach out to her.  And if YOU’RE a photographer that is ready to take their branding to the next level then it’s time to get you on my calendar!  Contact me today so we can discuss your vision and how I can help you to bring it to life.

Breyan S. | Uptown Charlotte Birthday Session

Chic and sophisticated life celebration (aka birthday) sessions are all the rage right now and Breyan definitely brought the heat to her shoot earlier this year in uptown Charlotte!  I love when my clients celebrate themselves and commemorate a special occasion by treating themselves to a photoshoot.  I often feel like people think it’s vain to have a photoshoot for just themselves unless they’re a business owner in need of headshots, but I love that this trend is emerging where people are treating themselves to something so special.

Breyan and I met in uptown Charlotte for her session back in April and she had the sweetest spirit about her.  Her demeanor was soft spoken and a bit quiet, but you’d never know based on the power poses she gave me and the way she worked her session.  I love when my clients come alive in front of my lens.  It’s almost like the inner Tyra or Naomi that I’m convinced lives inside each of us comes out and just serves!

Breyan popped in her yellow suit and brought out a softer side in her second look, a gorgeous white cocktail dress.  It was a perfect way to show who she is through various looks.  I had so much fun with working with and getting to know her and I hope we get the opportunity to work together again in the future.  And if you’re considering a life celebration session, but are having doubts let me alleviate them for you and as Nike says…just do it!  I’d love the opportunity to get to know you and see how I can help you celebrate this special moment in your life.  Contact me today so we can begin brainstorming your birthday session to make it everything you want and more!
