Bianca C. | Charlotte Premium Outlets Session
Want to know the way to my heart?  Combine two of my favorite things: photography and shopping.  Bianca always has the best ideas when it comes to photoshoots and as I’ve said more than once in the past she ALWAYS keeps me on my toes and our final session to end out 2018 was no different.
Each session that she and I collaborate on traces back to who she is and the things she enjoys doing.  The sessions are meticulously planned out and when the final vision comes together it’s beautifully executed.  Bianca is a shopper, as most of us women are, and she enjoys the occasional splurge and fun day out with her girlfriends so it was only natural to include two of her actual friends for some shopping fun at the Charlotte Premium Outlets.

We made our way through the outdoor outlet mall taking group shots that were a lot of fun and then ended the session by showcasing Brittany Hennessy’s book Influencer.  Brittany was a speaker at Bianca’s Branding With Bianca conference and this shoot was our way of letting everyone know that Brittany would not only be attending the conference but that she would be the fireside chat guest alongside Bianca.

Ashley T. | The Hive Community Circle

If you’ve been around and reading my blog for at least a few weeks then you’re well aware that I love working with brands.  I love meeting new people and hearing all about the businesses they run and working with them to figure out ways that I can help them create brand visuals that are unique and fit their personality.  When Ashley reached out to me and told me about The Hive Community Circle I was excited to know more.  As someone that has always championed the rights of survivors, I knew this was an important cause and I was so glad to be able to play even a small role in helping Ashley bring the visuals to life.

Ashley’s session took place in downtown Rock Hill, SC and we had a great time getting to know one another, learning about each other’s passions and then we even had the chance to pop inside one of my favorite cafes, Amelie’s (I encourage you to check it out if you’re ever in the area).
I loved getting to know more about Ashley and her organization.  The Hive Community Circle is a faith based organization committed to ensuring that all survivors of sexual assault and intimate partner violence receive equitable support and services to live healthy, safe, and stable lives free from all forms of violence.  If you are a survivor of assault I highly encourage to check them out and see if they can be of service to you.  You can find out more about Ashley and The Hive Community Circle on her website, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

And if you’re the owner of a non-profit organization and looking to update your brand visuals then I’d love to hear from you!  Please contact me today so we can discuss your passion and vision.

Courtney E. | Rock Hill Branding Session
I’m slowly working my way through my group of friends and getting them in front of my lens.  I love capturing people I know and getting them to see themselves the way that I see them.  It’s been fun to do over the years and something I hope to have the opportunity to continue doing for many years to come.  I’ve known Courtney a couple of years now since she joined the book club I’m a part of and so when she broached the topic of writing an educational book and needing some professional headshots and branding images I was of course elated that she would choose me to help her bring this project to life!

Since this was her first time having a session of this style I’m so glad she used my Pinterest board to help put her look together.  I love it when my clients put thought and effort into their looks and I know that’s not always easy so I like to help them out by creating a few different boards to help them along.  I highly recommend utilizing this when booking a session with me so that you can feel your most confident and put together.  She showed up to her session looking professional, but not too stuffy that she’s unreliable which is so important in this day and age.

Our 30 minute session took us up and down Main Street in downtown Rock Hill on a sleepy Sunday morning and we managed to capture some great images she can use for not only her website, but also her social media accounts and eventually on her book.  And if you’re in need of updated branding images then I’d love to chat with you!  Contact me today to see how I can help you bring your vision to life.

AJ | Greenville Senior Session
I’ve had the pleasure of working with Tracy a few times over the course of the last year or so.  We’ve done a branding session, couple’s session and even captured one of her son’s senior session last year.  And during that session she told me about her son AJ and how when his time came for his senior session he was going to be a lot of fun to work with due to his charismatic personality and the fact that he enjoys having the camera on him and boy was she right!

When she reached out to me regarding AJ’s Senior Portrait Session I knew I was in for a treat.  We shot in the same location as her oldest son’s senior session so it was fun to be able use Falls Park in Greenville, SC as our backdrop, but find new locations so that his shoot didn’t look identical to his brother’s.

AJ was a true joy to be around.  His personality made our time together so enjoyable.  I always go into male senior sessions a bit apprehensive because I know a lot of teen guys would rather be doing anything else than taking photos, but this session was so different.  AJ knew how to have fun and not take himself so seriously and it made our time together very easy.  Just based on the conversations we had during our short time together I could tell that AJ loves to enjoy life and that his future is so bright.  I’m excited to see what’s in store for him in the coming years.  If you have are a rising high school senior, or the parent of one, and are looking to capture this stage in your life then I’d love to chat with you.  Email me today so we can begin planning your session!

The Melanin + Light Workshop

photography workshop
It’s officially here and I’m so excited to FINALLY be able to share this news with the world!  After months and months of planning alongside Kristen Gordon of K. Marie Photography our new project is finally being unveiled for the world to see.  And if I’m being completely honest I’m currently a ball of nerves and excitement which I think is good when venturing into something new.  We created this workshop as a need that we felt many in the photography community had, how to properly shoot and edit their black and brown clientele.  Kristen and I both have similar shooting and editing styles and a desire to help other photographers properly hone their skills so the only natural next step was to put together a workshop based off of this idea.
Our first workshop, Melanin + Light, will take place at Collision Cowork in Rock Hill, SC on February 9, 2019 from 11 am – 3 pm.  The workshop will include hands on training with two models to get you more comfortable with posing and client interaction, basic editing tutorials in Lightroom and ending the day with lunch and an informal Q+A session.  Early bird tickets are officially on sale now, with a savings of $50, and you can get them here.  Early bird sales will end on December 6 and regular ticket sales will end on February 1.  There are a limited number of seats available so don’t wait to purchase your ticket!  If you’re reading this after the workshop has ended please make sure to sign up for the DBP Brand Experience Newsletter to be notified of future workshops.
Date: February 9 ,2019
Time: 11 am – 3 pm
Location: Collision Cowork, 116 E Main Suite 201, Rock Hill, SC 29730
