Ashley M. | Columbia Realtor Session

I’m truly thankful for the connections that I get to make through this little business of mine.  My makeup artist, Whitney of Whitney Elise Beauty referred her friend and fellow boss babe Ashley aka The Real Estate Diva to me for some updated branding images.  Ashley and her mom, Michelle, who is now part of her team and I had a ball getting to know one another during our time together.

We started their session at a beautiful model home in Columbia, SC where I was able to capture images of them as a team as well as individually making sure to show off not only their professional sides, but their fun personalities as well.  I love when I’m able to connect with my clients on a personal level and they’re able to relax and have fun in front of my lens and that’s exactly what happened during our time together.

After moving locations we headed to one of my favorite areas in downtown Columbia, SC known as The Vista.  Lots of people were out and about in this busy area due to a perfect Southern day, but we managed to get some great shots even while having an audience in tow.  I’m excited to see where Ashley’s budding business takes her in the future and just by following her social media accounts I know she’s passionate about what she does and has her client’s best interest at heart.  If you’re located in the NC, SC or GA region and looking to buy or  sell your home then definitely check Ashley and Michelle out!  You can find them on Instagram as well as Facebook!  And if you’re a realtor needing some updated branding images for your business then I’d love to chat!  Contact me today so we can begin planning your session!

Tylah + Antoinette | Confetti Hearts Wall Session

Being in business for 8 years there’s not much new under the sun that I get to shoot.  Families, brands, engagements, seniors, birthdays…I’ve done them all.  And while each session varies due to the wide range of clients I get to work with for the most part each one is similar to the next.  But today I get to talk about something I’ve never had the opportunity to do before…mother and daughter branding sessions.

I worked with Antoinette of Invocare Clinical Research earlier this year for her business branding session and then a few months later had the opportunity to do a branding session with her daughter Tylah, creator/owner of House of GAR (Girls Always Rule).  Antoinette’s session took place in downtown Rock Hill and we vibed so well!  I love it when I meet clients that I automatically gel with and they immediately feel like old friends.  Learning about Invocare, which is a medical research site network, dedicated to the advancement of medicine was so interesting to me because it was a field I knew absolutely nothing about before discussing it with Antoinette.

Following that session, Antoinette reached out to me about getting some images for her daughter Tylah as she began her entrepreneurial journey.  I was so excited for this opportunity because I love it when parents see a something inside their child that lights them up and then helps them to achieve that goal.  Antoinette and her husband are doing an amazing job with fostering Tylah’s creativity and being her own boss.  I’m so excited to learn more about Tylah’s brand, which will be a premiere brand for girls featuring her line of children’s makeup!  This is just the beginning for Tylah and with her amazing parents backing her endeavors she’s going to go on to do amazing things.  Stay tuned for what’s to come from both of these ladies!

April Turns 40!

April Turns 40!

Milestone birthdays should be celebrated to the fullest!  Lavish spa days, birthday drinks with your loved ones and of course a fabulous photoshoot has to be on the agenda as well!  I was so excited when April contacted me about helping her to ring in the big 4-0 a few months ago.  She and her husband BROUGHT it for their love story session last year so I knew that she was going to pull out ALL the stops for this session and she did NOT disappoint.

With three looks that reflected her elegant and fun sides we had a blast catching up and making this session as memorable as possible.  A modern and chic (and might I add new) apartment complex in Columbia, SC was the backdrop for our session and it went so well with each one of her looks.  Her white gown played perfectly with the piano room that guests enjoy during their down time.  Her blush sequin dress was fitting for the interior of the complex with it’s lush furniture and beautiful lighting.  And then finally her fun and flirty dress was great as we captured her outside with balloons in tow.

I know this year will be epic for April and I’m so thankful that she allowed me to play a small role in helping her to celebrate it.  And if you have a milestone (or other) birthday coming up soon then I’d love to do a life celebration session with you!  There’s no better way to capture this moment in your life than getting glammed up and treating yourself to a photoshoot.  I personally think it is the perfect way to kickstart your much deserved celebration.  You can never go wrong with loving on yourself, right?  Contact me today so that we can begin planning your session!

Paula + Elijah | Duke Energy Center Engagement Session

I love love.  Capturing someone’s love story is one of the most important aspects of what I get to do.  And while I no longer shoot weddings, I do still enjoy shooting a good engagement session even if they are few and far between these days.  I met Paula and her fiance, Elijah, on a cold February morning as we prepared for their session in uptown Charlotte.  And even though it was a brisk day, the sun beamed high in the sky and made for the perfect background.

Their  session started off at the Duke Energy Center building, one of the most beautiful skyscrapers I’ve ever had the opportunity to be inside of.  The sun shone in from outside making the crisp white walls shine even more brightly.  And Paula and Elijah’s dark wardrobe played perfectly against the brightness.  It was so much fun getting to know the two of them and learning about how their love story came to be.  A lot of my male clients can sometimes be indifferent about shooting a session, but Elijah seemed to be just as happy to be there as Paula was.

After wrapping up inside of the Duke Energy Center we then headed to the streets to capture a few shots before we got too cold.  We made our way down the street to La Belle Helene, which is always a beautiful setting from even just their patio.  It’s definitely one of my favorite places to shoot couples due to the intimate feeling and ambiance it radiates.  I’m so excited to see what the future holds for Paula and Elijah and wish them a marriage more beautiful than their wedding day.  And if you’re in need of an engagement session then I’d love to chat with you!  Contact me today to see how I can help you tell your love story.

Freely Nat | Blogger Sessions

You guys are in for a treat today!  Not only am I sharing a blog post about one of my favorite Echo Collection clients, Freely Nat, but she and I have had the opportunity to work together three times this year already.  So you’re getting three sessions in one today!  And since Natalie has now added a beauty and fashion section to her blog you can check out all the goodness on her looks as well.

Our first session took place in Baxter Village in Fort Mill and officially introduced us to baby Clayton.  It was a rainy day but we pressed on and found some great places that to shoot that kept us dry.  Even though Clayton slept for the majority of our time together we did manage to get him to wake up briefly for a shot or two.

Natalie’s second session was all about the fashion!  She was debuting this section of her blog and needed some great content to post.  We managed to knock out three looks in uptown Charlotte and I’ve already found myself going to her site and purchasing items she’s put together.  I definitely suggest you hop on over after reading this to check it out.

Our final shoot together took place at Glencairn Garden in Rock Hill, SC.  It was a Mother’s Day session that allowed me to work with all of Natalie’s adorable children as well as her mom.  The entire family came dressed to impress and it was so great seeing them all again and helping them to create wonderful memories.  If you’re a blogger that is in need of content on a consistent basis then I’d love to chat with you about my Echo Collection which is perfectly suited for bloggers.  Natalie and I already have something else up our sleeves so stay tuned for that in the coming weeks!
